Hidden Lake


Hidden Lake at 3.4 acres, is the deepest and largest of the three lakes in volume 9,670,599 gallons.  An acid seep passes beneath a county road continually supplying acid to the lake.

Backhoe Digging A tracked backhoe was used to excavate 25 feet to the ground water pathway.  Two trenches were excavated, straddling the road.

Large rock rip-rap was added to each trench.

Placing Tanker Trench 75 tons of Code H, a commercial alkaline product, was pumped from pneumatic tanker trucks into each trench.

Backhoe Rip-Rap Each trench was topped off with large rock rip-rap to allow for the addition of acetylene waste slurry from Airgas.
